Background

The procurement of a mixed-use scheme to redevelop the Former Arla Dairy Site.

This mixed-use scheme is comprised of a 70,000ft² Asda supermarket and petrol filling station, an 11-screen multiplex cinema, 5 family themed restaurants, and all external landscaping and highway works. Planning was also obtained for the construction of circa 132 residential units on the site, which is now being developed out by a large house builder. The scheme involved the demolition of the existing dairy related structures and construction of a part-undercroft car park providing 506 spaces for the users of the proposed foodstore, cinema and restaurants above.

A key feature of the development was the provision of a landscaped piazza and new public square, along with new pedestrian access routes through the site, in order to integrate it into the surrounding community. The project provided a new focal point and provide significant economic and regeneration benefits for the local area.

This project won the RICS London Regeneration Award 2017
