Background

Advancing Plymouth with a new retail structure

A new retail and leisure destination to the north of Plymouth comprises the construction of 57,200 sq ft of new space.

The Derriford Retail Park will see the transformation of the Seaton Barracks Parade Ground site into six retail units across two separate buildings for Aldi, M&S Food Hall, Pure Gym, Pets Corner and a Costa Drive-Through as well as 12 EV charging stations.

The buildings are separated by a new feature north-south public highway link road integrating with the existing road network and facilitating future bus links through the site to the Hospital.

The scheme is set to provide significant investment and regeneration activity, as well as support the council’s plans to provide growth within the city.

The District Centre development is positively contributing to Biodiversity with an overall Net Gain onsite with further offsite mitigation.  The site is also well connected by public transport, by bicycle or on foot with on site enhancements.

The retail hub will aid local residents and those studying and working within the area, as well as creating more than 100 full time jobs and protecting a further 57 existing roles.
