Background

To convert and refurbish a 6000 ft² bed and breakfast in Solihull into a dedicated cancer respite centre.

Following the successful completion of their Wessex site, Breast Cancer Haven looked to open a new cancer respite centre in the heart of Solihull.

The first of its kind in the midlands, the respite centre is housed in a refurbished bed and breakfast facility, and now supports 60 new visitors per month. The centre has been designed to provide yoga classes, cooking and nutrition workshops, massage and treatments rooms and counselling space, along with ancillary and communal spaces.

Our Role

Stace provided Project Management services to the project.

Our Impact

The site is on a heritage site, meaning that close communication and detailed design work was required in order to secure planning permission. The new centre is a result of fundraising and £2.5 million government funding, and thus was held to a very strict budget.
