Background

An expansive healthcare facility for North West London

West Middlesex University Hospital will incorporate a new build Ambulatory & Diagnostic Centre situated in Isleworth, spanning 6,500m2.

The five-storey centre will deliver new imaging, renal dialysis and vital diagnostic and treatment services for cancer for local residents. The centre is proposed to reduce health disparities within the system, improve patient outcomes and provide care closer to home for locals.

The healthcare facility will also include site-wide works such as the expansion of an existing access road and footpath, demolition works and a new terraced area for staff on the fourth floor.

Since the hospital was built, this project stands as the biggest financial investment in the estate. As cancer and kidney disease are among the leading health concerns affecting the population, the funds allocated to the centre will expand its ability to provide treatments for cancer and renal disease, ensuring that local residents have access to necessary care close to home.

The centre will support outpatient care by offering day services for patients, opening approximately twelve hours per day and six days a week. This is set to accelerate diagnosis and treatment, helping improve outcomes for patients in the community in the years ahead.

In addition to providing significant benefits for patients, the ADC will invest in the knowledge of staff by providing a modern Education and Training Facility.

The new development aims to be an all-electric building and is striving for an “Excellent” BREEAM rating, aligning with the Trust’s dedication to sustainable new builds and facilities.
