Permission granted to repurpose former Debenhams , Leeds

Orchard Street Investment Management Asset Managers on behalf of St James’s Place, has received planning permission from Leeds City Council to redevelop the former Debenhams department store.

The proposed scheme will deliver flexible commercial space totalling 45,000 sq ft and 124 student beds.

The scheme will preserve the listed building’s 1930s architectural appearance whilst adding an additional 5th floor.

Sustainability is strongly embedded into the plans for the scheme with BREEAM Excellent status targeted for the student accommodation.

Stace LLP is appointed as Project Manager overseeing the design & construction stages and Employer’s Agent.

Stace LLP is providing project management services overseeing the design & construction stages and Employer’s Agent. Chapman Tolcher Carey Jones Studios act as Architects, ICIS Design as structural engineers, Savills as Planning Consultants, Hollis as QS and A Plus as MEP Engineers also comprise the project team.
