Tellon Capital’s Cassiobury House granted planning consent

  • Developer, Tellon Capital has secured planning consent to regenerate the Cassiobury House site on Station Road, Watford.
  • The scheme comprises demolition of the existing six storey office building and construction of two new buildings.
  • 55,000 sq ft of new, high quality office space and a 168-bed hotel with ancillary restaurant and car parking space will be delivered.

Developer, Tellon Capital has secured planning consent to redevelop Cassiobury House.

The redevelopment plans will see the existing, 1970s, six-storey building demolished and construction of two new linked buildings.

Approximately 55,000 sq ft of new, high quality office space, a 168-bed hotel, 86 car parking spaces and 46 secure cycle parking spaces will be delivered. The taller building will house the hotel and will reach 13 storeys, while the adjacent office building will reach seven storeys, stepping down in height to the rear of the site.

The plans will address the recent loss of office stock in Watford which has seen a decline of 10% since 2009. The extra office space and a new hotel will also create more local jobs.

The site is located close to the Watford Junction Masterplan, which will create an exciting and vibrant quarter around the town’s main station. Watford Borough Council’s plans include new shopping facilities, new bus stops, better walking routes and a brand new connecting bridge. The redevelopment of the tired and outdated office block will further enhance the area.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2022
