Kington Council secures planning permission to transform Kingfisher Leisure Centre

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames are proud to announce that permission has been granted to transform the Kingfisher Leisure Centre into a brand-new fully inclusive community leisure complex.

This new facility will include a 5-a-side rooftop football pitches, two swimming pools, children’s splash deck, climbing wall, flexible community spaces, a café and much more.

This scheme is part of their ’Transform Kingston’ programme, which will improve the public space around the new complex and connecting with the neighbouring historic Grade II listed Kingston library and Museum, with the aim of attracting more residents and visitors to come and experience Kingston’s unique history and culture.  The programme will help diversify the local economy beyond retail and ignite a vibrant leisure and cultural scene.

This facility is designed by FaulknerBrowns, a state-of-the-art facility that will be environmentally sustainable with fully accessible and inclusive amenities.  Take a tour of the approved new leisure complex.
