The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Galleries project encompassed the full refurbishment of a suite of rooms designed to display over 500 objects from the renowned Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Collection.
Celebrated for its exceptional ornamental gold and silver masterpieces, the collection is housed on the first floor of the V&A’s historic Aston Webb building in South Kensington. The galleries overlook the Exhibition Road Courtyard and form a key part of the museum’s decorative arts offer.
To support this transformation, Stace provided Project Management and Contract Administration services from inception through to completion. The works involved a complete strip-out of existing finishes, fixtures and services, followed by the installation of new architectural finishes, upgraded mechanical and electrical systems, and a specialist exhibition fit-out to enhance both functionality and the visitor experience.
Stace also acted as Principal Designer under Part 2A of the Building Regulations. Our role included assessing the compliance pathway; preparing and maintaining the PD tracker; reviewing the design for compliance with Parts A–M of the Building Regulations, and undertaking all associated duties through to completion of the works.
This project adds to our extensive portfolio of work with the Victoria & Albert Museum, one of our long‑standing clients, providing multidisciplinary services through our position on the Project Management and Cost Management Services Framework.
