Background

The Tide is London’s first-ever riverside linear park, part of the major regeneration and placemaking at Greenwich Peninsula development.

Officially opened in July 2019, The Tide was designed in collaboration by DS + R, Studio Morison and GROSS MAX. The new build development used prefabrication and parametric 3D modelling with The Tide set atop a steel monocoque structure.

Notably, the park hosts a public gallery which showcases eye-catching art and sculptures including pieces from Damien Hirst, Allen Jones and Morag Myerscough.

The park includes a 9-metre-high elevated path that delivers an impressive view of the River Thames, with the full walkway 1km in length.

The regeneration includes plans to increase the riverside route to 5km which will stretch along the full perimeter of Greenwich peninsula.

When complete Greenwich Peninsula will deliver 15,000 new homes and 13,000 new jobs.
