A key milestone has been reached at Bargate Quarter, Southampton’s landmark mixed-use regeneration scheme, with sectional completion achieved in August 2026.
The milestone marks the successful delivery of the first phase of the £100m+ build-to-rent development, transforming the area surrounding the historic Bargate monument. The works have enhanced the public realm, creating a welcoming environment that complements the wider development and supports the ongoing regeneration of Southampton city centre.
As part of this phase, 249 one to three-bedroom apartments have been delivered, helping to create a vibrant new neighbourhood at the heart of the city. The development also includes a range of high-quality resident amenities, such as a hi-tech gym, wellness studio, residents’ lounges and private dining facilities.
The wider £100m+ scheme is breathing new life into the former Bargate Shopping Centre, multi-storey car park and neighbouring buildings. Once complete, Bargate Quarter will deliver more than 500 homes, alongside further public realm improvements across Bargate Square and enhancements throughout the surrounding area.
