Following three earlier phases of work at Channing School, Stace was employed to review options for both the sports hall and a new performing arts building as part of the school’s final phase of their Capital Challenge Development Project at the Highgate Campus.
Channing School is situated on a particularly difficult site for access and sloping meant a part basement structure was necessary to support the new building.
The project was completed in the summer of 2017 and the final design is in keeping with a professional, modern, theatre. It maximises the space available and includes state-of-the-art technology for sound and lighting, providing pupils with an exceptional space in which to learn.
Located at the front of the Senior School, the new theatre-style space seats over 300 guests and is used to showcase many of the school’s extra-curricular offerings and GCSE and A-Level productions.
Stace provided cost management services.
