20 Giltspur Street is a cutting-edge redevelopment in Clerkenwell that seeks to repurpose, reposition, and extensively refurbish and extend an existing office building commercial premises to provide high-quality floorspace with new associated plant and end of journey facilities.
The core focus for the redevelopment is site context and community engagement, sustainability, tenant wellness and creating a distinct identity for the building. The building also holds rich historical significance as it houses part of the London Wall, which dates to AD200 and is a Scheduled Monument, so enhancing access and exhibition provision is incorporated.
The project will see the construction of two flexible commercial units on the ground floor, altered and additional entrances and further office space. It will also create office amenity terraces, reformed plant enclosures and façade alterations including urban greening. The development will be targeting high sustainability credentials and with this being part of the heart of the project’s objectives reuse of existing materials is maximised so much so whole internal floors are being raised and lowered whilst retaining much of the existing façade.
