Senior Associate (Quantity Surveyor)

This senior role is part of our London-based Cost Management team, working across a wide variety of projects with a strong client-facing focus. You’ll take ownership of your work, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while providing clear, reliable guidance to clients. You’ll also support colleagues and contribute to the continued strength of our service.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare budget estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation

  • Ensure effective variation control throughout projects

  • Report directly to clients, including delivering presentations

  • Manage your own projects independently, without technical supervision

  • Lead and manage teams of technical staff within the practice

  • Develop existing client relationships and identify opportunities to attract new clients

  • Work closely with Partners and senior management to support the development of the Cost Management division

  • Take responsibility for projects on a day-to-day basis, replacing direct Partner involvement where required

  • Undertake tasks typically carried out by Partners, exercising independent management and professional judgement

About you:

  • MRICS (or equivalent) and degree qualified
  • Proven Cost Management experience with a track record of leading and developing teams
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction and cost processes
  • Excellent IT, numeracy, and literacy skills
  • Confident communicating complex technical information to clients, designers, contractors, and other professionals
  • Skilled in contractor negotiations and challenging designs to propose sustainable solutions
  • Capable of managing multiple projects to deadlines with autonomy and professionalism

Senior Building Surveyor (Dilapidations Specialist)

This senior role is part of our Building Surveying team, specialising in Dilapidations while also providing professional surveying across a variety of sectors. You’ll take ownership of your projects, delivering expert guidance to clients and ensuring projects are managed efficiently and effectively. You’ll also support colleagues and contribute to the continued strength and growth of our service.

What you’ll do:

Dilapidations:

  • Prepare Schedules of Dilapidations, including cost assessments

  • Prepare Schedules of Tenant Lease Liabilities

  • Advise on lease obligations, lease breaks, and strategic negotiating options

  • Provide guidance on whether to undertake works or negotiate financial settlements

  • Negotiate settlement claims with landlords and tenants

  • Procure and, where required, manage works

  • Advise on Section 18 Valuations in accordance with the Landlord and Tenant Act 1927

Other surveying work:

  • Conduct commercial building surveys, vendor surveys, and due diligence reports

  • Analyse defects in existing buildings and prepare associated reports

  • Undertake PPM surveys and CAPEX schedule preparation

  • Mentor and develop junior colleagues, including supporting APC candidates and career progression initiatives

  • Develop client relationships and support business growth initiatives

About you:

  • MRICS (or equivalent) and degree qualified

  • Proven experience in building surveying, with a specialism in Dilapidations

  • Excellent IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong client-facing skills, capable of communicating complex technical information clearly

  • Skilled in motivating, mentoring, and developing others

  • High attention to detail with excellent numeracy and literacy standards
