Job Description

Join our team of over 200 professionals as an Associate in our Monitoring Surveying team.

If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality monitoring surveying and due diligence services, building strong client relationships, and leading teams to success, we want to hear from you.

This role will be based from our London office and offers the opportunity to travel to meet the demands of diverse projects across the South East and nationwide.

Duties

You will be capable of working in all areas of Monitoring Surveying and Due Diligence, including but not limited to:

  • Lead and deliver monitoring surveying commissions from instruction through to completion.

  • Prepare clear, concise technical reports and presentations for clients.

  • Chair meetings and provide strategic advice, ensuring the highest level of service delivery.

  • Manage project profitability, fee applications and time allocations.

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.

  • Support business development initiatives, including networking and representing Stace at industry events.

  • Support the wider Partnership through mentoring, staff development, and contributing to operational initiatives.

Ideally you will possess the following skills and qualifications: 

  • MRICS qualified (or equivalent experience at Associate level).

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering Monitoring Surveying and Due Diligence commissions.

  • Strong technical understanding of design, procurement and construction processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Commercially minded, with the ability to make sound professional judgements.

  • Demonstrates leadership, integrity and a collaborative approach.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable preparing professional client documentation.

Dilapidations Specialist / Senior Building Surveyor

Job Description

Join our team of over 200 professionals as a Senior Building Surveyor / Dilapidations specialist. You’ll have the opportunity to showcase your expertise across a wide range of sectors, working closely with a Senior Associate Building Surveyor/Partner.

If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality service and innovative solutions, we want to hear from you.

This role will be based from either our London or Epping office and offers the opportunity to travel to meet the demands of diverse projects.

We are looking for a versatile professional capable of working in all areas of Professional Building Surveying, with a specialism in Dilapidations.

Duties

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Professional Building Surveying Work – Dilapidations

• Preparing Schedules of Dilapidations, including costing
• Preparing Schedules of Tenants Lease Liabilities
• Advising on lease obligations and lease break options
• Strategic advice on negotiating options including advising clients of timings and tactical options
• Advising the client on whether to undertake the works or negotiate a financial settlement
• Negotiating settlement claims with landlords and tenants
• Procurement, and as required, managing the works
• Advising Section 18 Valuations, in accordance with the Landlord and Tenant Act 1927

Desirable but not essential:
• Commercial building surveys, vendor surveys and due diligence reports
• Defects Analysis of existing buildings and associated report writing
• PPM Surveys and CAPEX Schedules

Ideally you will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• MRICS qualified
• Degree qualified (ideally RICS accredited)
• Good IT literacy; Proficient in using software including; Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Capable of communicating effectively and efficiently with design teams, colleagues and other professionals in the industry including clients
• Capable of motivating/mentoring/developing others as part of their career progression
• Excellent client facing skills
• Excellent standards of numeracy and literacy
• High levels of attention to detail
• Capable of working to strict targets and timescales

This role will be based from our Epping office and offers the opportunity to travel to meet the demands of diverse projects.

Duties

You will be capable of working in all areas of Cost Management, including but not limited to:

Pre-Contract
• Undertaking benchmarking and feasibility estimates
• Preparing detailed budget estimates and cost plans
• Preparing measured quantities and tender documents, including preliminaries and general conditions
• Conducting tender evaluations and compiling tender reports

Post-Contract
• Preparing interim valuation recommendations
• Preparing cost reports and final accounts, including evaluation of Contractor’s claims
• Delivering effective cost management services across all project stages
• Reporting directly to clients with clear and concise advice through reports and correspondence
• Attending meetings with clients, contractors and fellow consultants
Other
• Training and mentoring junior staff, supporting APC candidates where appropriate
• Assisting in the day-to-day running of the Cost Management division
• Supporting business development by maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to new opportunities

Ideally you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
• Degree qualified (ideally RICS accredited)
• MRICS (or equivalent)
• Strong IT literacy, particularly with spreadsheets and MS Office
• Excellent numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail
• Ability to negotiate with contractors in a fair and professional manner
• Capable of managing strict deadlines and multiple priorities

• Tender evaluation and reporting

• Preparing interim valuations
• Preparing cost reports and final accounts, including the evaluation of Contractor’s claims
• Delivering effective variation control
• Reporting directly to clients, including delivering presentations

• Leading and mentoring team members, including supporting APC candidates and the Graduate Development Scheme
• Assisting in the day-to-day running of the Cost Management division
• Developing strong client relationships and supporting business growth initiatives

Ideally you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
