A major milestone has been reached for the North West Quadrant in Slough, with a resolution to grant planning permission secured for the £640m regeneration scheme.
Muse and Homes England have secured the resolution from Slough Borough Council’s Planning Committee, paving the way for the transformation of the 3.6-hectare former Thames Valley University site in the heart of Slough town centre.
The mixed-use neighbourhood will provide 1,539 new homes alongside a 25,030 sqm office building, 3,220 sqm of retail space, a nursery, and a major new community events space. A new central park and other green and play spaces will also form part of the development, alongside improved walking, and cycling connections.
Located adjacent to Slough railway station, the site has remained vacant since the former university campus closed. The plans form part of the wider regeneration of Slough town centre and have been developed following extensive consultation with local residents, businesses and stakeholders.
The milestone follows the submission of the planning application earlier this year. Stace is providing Project Management and Employer’s Agent services for Muse Places Limited, working in partnership with Homes England on the scheme.
