Set within Colchester’s Northern Gateway Leisure Park, this new 90-keyTravelodge hotel features a mix of double, family, and accessible rooms across four storeys. The development also includes an enhanced Travelodge Bar Café and on-site parking, providing added convenience and making it an ideal base for visitors exploring the area.
Designed to showcase the brand’s new premium aesthetic, the development represents the most significant upgrade to the Travelodge offering to date. This refreshed design features a reimagined reception area and a variety of sustainable building elements. These include carpets made from recycled fishing nets and plastic bottles, low energy LED lighting, motion sensor controls, aerated taps and showers to reduce water use, and photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof. The scheme will achieve a BREEAM Very Good rating and an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B.
The wider Northern Gateway Leisure Park consists of a 200,000 sq ft mixed use destination featuring a cinema, bowling alley, indoor golf, seven restaurants, and a 750 space car park with EV charging.
