Our History
Leonard E Stace ARICS
On 24 July 1959, Leonard Stace started Leonard E Stace ARICS.
The company's first project was the refurbishment of an office block in Leigh-On-Sea.
In 1961 the first office was opened in Epping, leased for £1 a week.
Leonard Stace Partnership
In 1972 the company became Leonard Stace partnership.
In the mid 1970s an apprenticeship scheme was begun welcoming a number of new apprentices, including Glyn Crawley, today a Partner in the business.
UK Growth
In the early 1980s the company began offering Project Management services.
In 1984 the company celebrated it's 25th anniversary at The Tower of London.
Offices were opened in Mansfield (1985) and in Leeds (1987)
Stace LLP
In 1990 an office was opened in London, following the acquisition of Frank N Faulkner.
Leonard Stace retired in 1992.
1993 saw Building Services added to the service sheet, rapidly followed by CDM services in 1994. These additions enhanced project management capabilities by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the design and construction phases.
In 1995, Stace started employing graduates both during their year out and after graduation, providing accommodation.
1996 saw the South Quay Plaza bombing.
This year also saw the introduction of the Party Wall Act and Stace began offering party wall services the year after.
In 1997 Stace began offering monitoring and surveying services, including technical due diligence and development monitoring.
60 & counting
Offices were opened in Leamington Spa (2013) and Cambridge (2016).
The Stace Graduate Development Scheme begain in 2014, followed by the Next Gen Programme in 2019.
In 2018 Stace was recognised at a top 20 consultancy and the largest UK SME Surveying Practice.
2019 saw Stace's 60th anniversary!
