West Middlesex University Hospital will incorporate a new Ambulatory & Diagnostic Centre situated in Isleworth, spanning 6,500m2.
The five-storey centre will deliver new imaging, renal dialysis, and vital diagnostic and treatment services for cancer patients. The centre will support reducing health disparities within the system, improve patient outcomes, and provide care closer to home for local residents.
The healthcare facility development will also see the expansion of an existing access road and footpath, demolition works and a new terraced area for staff on the fourth floor.
Since the hospital was built, this project stands as the biggest financial investment in the estate. As cancer and kidney disease are among the leading health concerns affecting the population, the funds allocated to the centre will expand its ability to provide treatments for cancer and renal disease, ensuring that local residents have access to necessary care close to home.
The centre will support outpatient care by offering day services, opening approximately twelve hours per day, six days a week. This is set to accelerate diagnosis and treatment, helping improve outcomes for patients in the community in the years ahead.
In addition to providing significant benefits for patients, the centre will provide a modern Education and Training Facility for staff.
The new development aims to be an all-electric building and is striving for an “Excellent” BREEAM rating, aligning with the Trust’s dedication to sustainable new builds and facilities.
