Royal Mail Midlands Hub Rugby

A new revolutionary super hub for the Royal Mail in The West Midlands

Reinforcing its parcel business, the Royal Mail launched an automated super hub in Rugby, Warwickshire.

Spanning 53 acres, with a main volume of 1.3 million cubic metres, the hub sees up to 1,600 vehicles in and out daily and can process more than one million items per day.

The internal works for the hub feature mechanical and electrical installations to the main hall area. In addition, the fit out of administration areas to create offices and welfare areas including the fit out of Royal Mail’s new training academy.

The external works included the installation of gantries, a vehicle weighbridge, vehicle washing, rail platform welfare accommodation and refuelling areas.

The super hub is located near warehouses and fulfilment centres of several major online retailers.
