The Pastures Colchester

Creating positive living and learning experiences for students

The Pastures, a high-quality 1,262 bed, student accommodation scheme opened its doors in August 2023 ready for the University of Essex’s new intake.

The five newly constructed buildings are five to six storey’s high. In addition to the bedrooms, the project has also created a new hub which includes a launderette, reception, post room, administrative area, student services centre, and staff welfare facilities.

This development followed phase one (648 new beds and the stock transfer of 772 beds) and phase two (643 beds).

The scheme, built by Bouygues UK surrounding the Colchester Campus, was completed within a tight programme despite the team facing challenges such as increased lead times and shortage of materials.

Kat Morris, Senior Project Manager at Bouygues Development commented: “I have worked with Stace on numerous projects over the years and have always found them professional, knowledgeable and proactive. They integrate themselves into the project team and encourage the collaborative working environment which is so important in the work that we do.”

Stace provided Employer’s Agent services for our client Uliving, in partnership with leading global investor, developer and fund manager Equitix.
