Pioneering quality care with a new housing development in Enfield
Reardon Court is a new extra care housing scheme situated in Winchmore Hill, in the borough of Enfield, north London.
The council-led project provides housing for individuals aged 55 and above who wish to maintain their independence but may need additional assistance to do so.
The homes, designed to enhance residents’ quality of life, include 70 self-contained, and accessible flats for rent, comprising one and two bedrooms. There will also be communal facilities including courtyards, social space, function rooms, hobby rooms, a library, and a hairdressing area, as well as 24-hour onsite care.
The development’s design closely followed the principles set out by the Housing Our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI), ensuring sensory experiences, social inclusion, and communal living were evident and enjoyable for residents, staff, and visitors.
The care home officially opened in the summer of 2024.
Stace was involved early in the design process and helped refine plans to align with the council’s budget. Stace managed the procurement process through a two-stage tender and successfully negotiated a contract despite challenging market conditions.
