101 George Street

101 George Street is a modular construction of two linked tower blocks of 44 and 38 storeys. In total this scheme, scaling 135 metres, will provide 546 residential flats, with the ground floor to incorporate a flexible multi-use space including retail, café and business space.
The construction type is a standard construction process using traditional building techniques from supporting the basement excavation and construction up to the 1st floor transfer slab in reinforced concrete. From there on, the modular construction begins – from the 1st floor level transfer slab, the structure will be formed from the modules – over 1,400 in all.
The modules are manufactured in the UK, where the majority of the fit out is installed including electrics, plumbing, bathrooms and kitchens before the module is transported to the site.
The development is very well located within Croydon, benefitting from being directly opposite East Croydon train station.
The scheme is planned to be delivered in just 30 months, from construction starting to residents moving into their new homes.
101 George Street is being built by Tide Construction Limited and Vision Modular Systems UK Ltd.
