Background

Stace acted as Project Managers on the £35 million renovation of this famous Grade II listed building which has now been rotated internally around 180 degrees to face a new public square and overlook the National Stadium.  The project involved the refurbishment and rotation of a 147,000 sq ft Grade II listed building, the construction of 30,000 sq ft of additional structural floor slabs within the existing listed building and the construction of a 34,000 extension, a new service yard to accommodate 16 heavy goods vehicles and a new public square civic space adjacent to the Arena and National Stadium.The project also comprised 12,200 seats within the Arena (room for up to 13,000 standing), nine dressing rooms, a 200 seat restaurant, 6 bars and numerous fast-food outlets and concessions, as well as a box office, promoter’s offices and a hospitality suite with the details finished to an excellent standard.
