Background

Delivery of multi award winning residential scheme in Cambridge.

Seven acres is Skanska Residential UK’s first UK Housing Development. The development forms part of the Cambridge Challenge, a scheme to develop 3,500 new homes in Cambridge and was done in collaboration with Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association.

Our Role

Stace were appointed as Project Manager, Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor.

Our Impact

Seven acres provided a total of 128 new homes to the local area, in a mixture of houses (70) and apartments (58). Done in collaboration with BPHA, a leading provider and developer of affordable homes operating in the Home Counties between Oxford and Cambridge, over 40% of the dwellings are affordable.

The units are a contemporary design by Formation Architects and call on Scandinavian influences to tie in with Skanska’s background.

The scheme was completed in two phases in order to streamline the much needed supply of new housing; phase one was completed in September 2013 with final project completion in September 2014.

The scheme won ‘Best Development Multiple Units, UK’ for the International Property Awards 2012 and was Highly Commended for a wide variety of awards, including The Housing Design Awards 2012, the Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2012 and The House Builder Awards 2012.
