Background

The redevelopment of a former petrol station, constructing 14 new residential apartments in the Trumpington conservation area of Cambridge.

Our Role

Stace were involved in the development of the project from concept design through to completion. The former petrol station had undergone recent decontamination, which created challenges in obtaining planning permission for the site and also imposed a high level of planning conditions for design and construction of the building. A joint venture between MPM Properties and Merchant Place Development, the developers were also keen for a quick return on investment which added pressure to the programme.

Our Impact

Stace successfully led the design team through a challenging design process, ensuring solutions were optimised and maintaining best value for the client whilst sustaining the client’s aspirations. Through regular liaison with the contractor and a particular focus on design detail and programme, Stace led the client and project team to successful completion of the project.
