Graduate Stories

Quintus Carr
Associate Project Manager

What drew you to the construction & property industry?

My interest in the built environment was kindled seeing the scale and diversity of building projects across London, from the landmark towers in the City to new Crossrail stations like Canary Wharf.

In this respect, I think the industry itself is unique in its range and scope. I also like the fact that construction brings together a wide range of disciplines including architecture, engineering and sustainability – it’s like no other.

How did you find out about the Stace graduate scheme?

I learnt about Stace through the traditional route of the university careers fair. I also used the Stace website and graduate brochure to research and learn about the two-year graduate development scheme.

Since I have worked at Stace it has been a delight to return to UCL where I studied to talk to prospective graduates about the experience.

What do you enjoy most about working for Stace?

I’ve appreciated being involved in commercial, residential and industrial projects, each at different stages in the project lifecycle. This has given me variety in my experience, and most importantly it means I am continuously developing my project management skills and construction knowledge. This was invaluable to support my studies as I worked towards becoming a member of the RICS through the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

It was clear from the outset that Stace truly values their GDS members.
