Becontree Heath Leisure Centre Project Officially Opened By Lord Coe

Becontree Heath Leisure Centre was officially opened by Lord Coe on 23rd March 2012.  The opening was organised by the Client, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham with the Mayor and a number of Council Officials in attendance. The event was also attended by two local schools and the project team who were responsible for delivering the new Leisure Centre.

 

The leisure centre comprises a 25m 10 lane pool, 4 court sports hall, 100 station gym, 2 squash courts together with studios, reception areas and cafes etc.

 

David Duffield and Alec Penn attended on behalf of Stace and are pictured with Lord Coe (see left). Lord Coe expressed his delight at facilities provided and also the timely completion of the project which will be used as a 2012 Olympic Training venue for Water Polo.

 

Lord Coe was pleased to hear of the massive take up of active sport within the locality since the new facility was completed and hoped that it will be remembered as one the projects that was completed around the time of 2012 Olympic Games.
