Planning consent granted for Welwyn Garden City master plan

Planning consent has been granted for Spen Hill’s Welwyn Garden City, redevelopment of the Old Shredded Wheat Factory.

The scheme will provide 850 new homes, linked with a formal garden spaces, new public square, landscaped gardens and communal space. The original Grade II listed Shredded Wheat Factory Buildings will be converted into office and retail space. Part of the distinctive grain silos which formed part of the original factory will be transformed into a boutique hotel. The development, which spans 1.4 million ft² has been designed by EPR architects.
