Yalding House: A Stace Broadcast

27 July 2015

Last week Stace attended the audit for current refurbishment project, Yalding House, which is better known for being the former home of BBC Radio 1 from 1996 to 2013.

Members of the project team included British Land PLC, Fairsnape, Greengage, along with Stace’s own John Shannon (Senior Associate). They were joined by a surprised Jo Whiley, BBC2 DJ & last DJ ever to broadcast from Yalding House, who was visiting site for a documentary on the history of Radio 1 and the Live Lounge Programme.

The former recording studios will be transformed into new high quality office spaces, provision for retail at ground floor and a new double height mansard to the rooftop.

Designed to appeal to technology and creative sectors, the key features include a new re-modelled and re-configured reception from Great Portland Street, fully refurbished office space together with a high level of amenities including a roof terrace, cycle storage, lockers and showers.

Completion is expected by the end of the year.
