24 October 2014

Stace are delighted to announce that Jaguar Land Rover’s Engine Manufacturing Centre won the Regeneration category at the RICS Grand Final Awards 2014 on Friday 17th October 2014. After winning the West Midlands regional award in May, the JLR Engine Manufacturing Centre was shortlisted for the Grand Final Awards, which took place last week at the Savoy Hotel, London. The Regeneration award aimed to celebrate a project that has made exceptional improvements to urban, rural or coastal areas and that has conserved or improved the natural environment.

Stace are proud to have been involved in this project, which represents a key part in JLR’s global growth strategy. Construction of the engine facility comprised three large open plan process halls: a machine hall for the machining of parts and two separate assembly halls for assembling the finished parts into engines. Ancillary support buildings offer necessary staff facilities, including various engine test facilities and laboratories. Offices, training rooms, restaurants and an education business partnership centre complete the scheme.

Services provided by Stace included:

  • Strategic development consultancy, including technical due diligence in land acquisition, representation with local stakeholders and managing process of acquiring development consents.
  • Employer’s representative role, providing day to day strategic JLR internal management of the construction process, interfacing with the design team.
  • Employer’s Agent services, providing day to day administration of the construction contract.
