Waitrose Opens in Colchester

Waitrose, the food shops of the John Lewis Partnership, with St Andrews Avenue LLP and assisted by Aquila Developments Limited, opened the doors to its newest store in St Andrews Avenue, Colchester.

Stace LLP, appointed as Quantity Surveyors, Employers Agents and CDM Co-ordinators to convert the former Glyn Webb DIY store site for St Andrews Avenue LLP, has completed the scheme both on time and within budget.

The development included the demolition of the green house and two storey arched entrance whilst enhancing the vacant 1980's unit to upgrade to form a food retail outlet, car park with room for 222 spaces, dock shelter, goods loading bay and service area, with a total gross internal floor area of 3300m2.

The store opening builds upon John Lewis Partnership's ambitious expansion plans, which over the last five years has seen the supermarket, develop into a national brand.
